To celebrate the launch of my site, I am sharing my absolute favorite recipe for chocolate chip cookies. Lots of people claim to have the best chocolate chip cookie recipe ever, but I can assure you, you will need no other recipe once you try this one.

It is a bit labor intensive, but it is worth it. They freeze incredibly well (a blessing or a curse, however you want to view it).

I gave these cookies to our new neighbors as a housewarming gift and I received the sweetest handwritten thank you notes from the kids. Let’s just say there will not be many of these left over after you bake them. One of my family members told me that she will not make these because she’s unable to resist eating them all out of the freezer. If that’s not a ringing endorsement, then I’m not sure what is.

I originally posted about these on my blog several years ago and they have become a staple in my baking. All of my tips still hold true. Definitely let the dough hang out in the fridge for at least a day, but you need not time it exactly to the hour. Keep an eye on the baking time – this will depend on how hot your oven gets. A little bit of browning on top is the key – not too done, but not too underdone either. And yes, buying two kinds of flour and mixing them together is a little bit of a pain in the rear, but totally worth the delicate texture that you achieve.

You can find the link to the recipe here. And my original blog post here.

Just make them. You’re welcome.
